Assessing what to fix, replace, or leave alone
App modernization starts with an honest audit of what's actually wrong: an outdated framework version, unsupported dependencies, poor performance on newer devices, a user experience that hasn't kept up with the app's growth, or a codebase that's become too fragile to add features to safely. Not every one of those problems needs a full rewrite.
We assess the existing codebase before recommending an approach, and scope the work as targeted upgrades where possible — dependency updates, performance fixes, architecture cleanup, UI refresh — reserving a full rebuild for cases where the existing code genuinely can't support what the app needs to become. The goal is an app that's stable and current, not a different app that happens to do the same thing.
Technical Audit
A review of the current codebase, dependencies, and performance to identify what's actually causing problems.
Framework & Dependency Upgrades
Bringing an app current on Flutter, React Native, Android, or iOS SDK versions without breaking existing functionality.
Performance Remediation
Fixing slow screens, memory issues, and crash-prone flows identified during the audit.
UI/UX Refresh
Updating interfaces that no longer match current platform conventions or user expectations.
Architecture Cleanup
Restructuring fragile or tangled code so new features can be added safely going forward.
Store Compliance Updates
Addressing changes required to keep passing current App Store and Google Play review requirements.
Why modernize instead of rebuild
Lower cost than a full rebuild
Targeted fixes to working code cost less than starting over on features that already function.
Less disruption to users
Existing users keep the app they know while it's improved underneath, rather than facing a completely new version.
Faster path to stability
Fixing known problems in an existing codebase is usually quicker than rebuilding and re-testing an entire app.
